Jailbroken PS5 Remote Play FAQ

Answers about playing a jailbroken PS5 on your computer with Orbit Play: PSN and offline accounts, account IDs and PINs, firmware, loaders and fixes.

Getting started

How do I Remote Play a jailbroken PS5?

Download Orbit Play for your computer, load your PS5’s jailbreak and open Payload Manager or enable an ELF loader. In the app, enter the PS5’s address and choose Start helper on PS5. Enter the six-digit trust code the helper shows, then pair and start playing. The step-by-step guide shows every screen.

Do I need to download the PS5 ELF?

No. The desktop app includes the PS5 helper and starts it on your jailbroken PS5 through Payload Manager or an ELF loader. If you prefer to run the helper yourself, the standalone ELF is on the download page.

Do I need Chiaki or another Remote Play tool?

No. Orbit Play includes the player and the PS5 helper, handles the account ID and Remote Play PIN, and offers account setup when it’s needed. You still need a jailbroken PS5 with a payload loader.

Do I need OffAct, LinkDev or get-pin?

Not for Orbit Play. When a profile needs it, Orbit Play’s own account setup creates a local account ID or enables Remote Play, after you review the changes. Pairing then handles the account ID and Remote Play PIN for you. You only need your jailbreak and Payload Manager or an ELF loader.

Which payload loaders does it work with?

Orbit Play starts its helper through Payload Manager on port 8084 or an ELF loader on port 9021. If your loader uses other ports, enter them under Profile & connection options. You can also run the ELF yourself.

PSN and accounts

Can I use PS5 Remote Play without PSN?

Yes. Pairing and playing happen on your home network: Orbit Play never asks for a PSN sign-in and doesn’t need an internet connection. It does not provide online PSN services.

Does it work with offline or local PS5 accounts?

Yes. Orbit Play can enable Remote Play for profiles that have never been linked to PSN, often called offline accounts. If the profile needs a local account ID, the app creates one, so you don’t need a separate offline activation tool. It only does this after you review the changes and accept the risk to existing saves. We recommend a separate new profile with no saves. Read account setup and recovery first.

Do I need my PSN account ID in base64?

No. Orbit Play reads the account ID of the profile logged in on the PS5, so there’s no lookup website, script or hex-to-base64 conversion. Profiles that have never been linked to PSN have no online ID to look up; if one needs a local account ID, account setup creates it.

Do I need a Remote Play PIN?

Not one you enter. Orbit Play exchanges the Remote Play PIN for you while pairing, with no separate PIN generator. The six-digit code the helper shows is different: it’s Orbit Play’s trust code, which authorizes your computer and changes when the helper restarts.

Can a second PS5 user use Remote Play?

Yes. Pairings are saved for each console and PS5 profile. Log into the other user on the PS5, choose Console setup → Change console, find the console again and pair that profile. If it needs account setup, Orbit Play offers it for that profile. The app doesn’t switch the PS5 user for you; see switching profiles.

Will account setup affect my saves?

It can. Existing account IDs are kept, but creating a new ID means accepting the risk that existing saves may become inaccessible. We recommend a separate new PS5 profile with no saves. Orbit Play backs up the account settings it changes, not games or saves, and can restore them.

Compatibility and cost

Which PS5 firmware works?

Orbit Play has been tested on firmware 13.60 with Relapse and Payload Manager v0.5.2. Other firmware may work but is untested; after account setup there, restart the PS5 and reload the jailbreak before pairing.

Does it run on Apple Silicon Macs and Windows on ARM?

Yes. The Mac app is built for Apple Silicon and needs macOS 26 or later; Intel Macs aren’t supported in this beta. On Windows 11 on ARM, the x64 ZIP runs through Windows’ built-in emulation and has been tested with a PS5; there’s no native ARM64 Windows build. Linux has x64 and arm64 AppImages.

Does it work with PlayStation Portal, phones or tablets?

No. Orbit Play is an app for Mac, Windows and Linux computers.

Can I play away from home?

Not in this beta. Your computer and PS5 must be on the same trusted local network, and the PS5 must be awake.

Is Orbit Play free?

Yes. Orbit Play is free and open source. The computer app is licensed under AGPL-3.0-only and the PS5 helper under GPL-3.0-or-later, and every release includes the complete source of both.

What isn’t supported yet?

HDR, microphone, haptics, waking the PS5 from Rest Mode, PS5 login-passcode prompts, account migration and Intel Macs. Waking from Rest Mode, HDR, microphone input and haptics are in development.

Fixing problems

What do I do after restarting the PS5?

Load the jailbreak again and choose Start helper on PS5 in the app. Pairings stay saved on your computer for each console address and profile, so you only pair again if the PS5’s address changes. Profiles that already have Remote Play ready don’t need account setup again.

Why can’t Orbit Play find my PS5?

Make sure the helper is running: choose Start helper on PS5, because the Media icon alone doesn’t start it. Enter just the PS5’s address, without http:// or a port, and keep both devices on the same local network. Guest networks, Wi-Fi client isolation and VPNs can block the connection. On Windows, allow Orbit Play on private networks. More fixes are in troubleshooting.

Why does pairing fail?

Check that the PS5 profile shown in the app is the one logged in on the console, and use the six-digit code the helper shows now, not an older one. If Orbit Play offers Set up Remote Play or Enable Remote Play, complete account setup first. On firmware other than 13.60, restart the PS5 after account setup and reload the jailbreak and helper before pairing. More fixes are in troubleshooting.
